Australian contemporary artist Felicity Green completed both her under-graduate and post-graduate studies at the Australian National University (ANU) School of Art in the Drawing and Painting workshops.

As well as pursuing her own arts practice, Felicity has been a dedicated and enthusiastic arts educator at both secondary and tertiary level. She lectures in visual arts education at Canberra University and The Catholic University. Felicity has also developed and taught adult education courses in drawing and painting for ANU and continues in this role at Canberra Institute of Technology.

Colour is my main focus, the spacial and emotional sensations it can evoke are lyrically drawn from landscape and the memory of place.

My strongest influences derive from the surrealist notions of automatic gesture through experimentation with materials and the exploration of landscape and contemporary notions of the sublime.

My work looks back through the 20th century phenomenon of abstract art to the Romantic traditions of the Northern European painters. As with other contemporary painters of landscape, I continue to search for a new means of conveying spiritual impulses in which nature alone may reveal a transcendental mystery.
